Paul's Passing Thoughts

Andy stumbled upon this meme some time ago and thought it was “scary.” My response is more toward finding humor in the stupidity of it. Yet, when it gets right down to it, this is the mentality of most church pastors or elders. When you raise a theological issue with them, you can see the resentment on their faces. I suppose something else makes this meme special coming from these elitist control freaks; the misuse of the word, “then.”

Because what God originally created is good and remains good, He redeems it. We reject the idea that something God created is subject to a complete fall resulting in utter worthlessness. We reject total depravity.

The glory of men waxing eloquent about the terror of God in splendid surroundings is our comfort and assurance. Their art for condemning us causes us to revere them all the more because of what their authority is saving us from. Supposedly.
