Pedestrian Christian Weighs In on More New Calvinist Vomit

Posted in Uncategorized by Paul M. Dohse Sr. on July 18, 2013

In the following article, Alex Guggenheim documents the shameless pandering to liberal race politics by the New Calvinists and why they do it. Also telling is his documentation of Al Mohler’s continuing struggle with speaking truth.

But let me throw in my two-cents worth before you read Alex’s astute observations: New Calvinism is Socialism dressed up in Bible verses. The historical process is always the same: religions founded on The Republic playbook always support totalitarian parties, and then once they help them obtain control, they bid for their piece of the pie; ie., “We can offer you control over this much of the population on a silver platter—we just need a little help with enforcing “truth.’” And if it happens, they might even let Julie Anne Smith pick out the color of her guillotine. I presume pink would be her preference.

This is how it always happens, and is behind the huge ecumenical movement of New Calvinism. People express surprise that a lot of these guys vote for liberal politics. It doesn’t surprise me in the least, but without further comment, here is Alex’s post:

Notice how the NCist narrative is once again the same thing over and over: the victimhood of the perpetrator versus the sinfulness of the victim.

Paul you have hit on the head of a nail- Calvinism:Socialism. Now I will go out on a limb and even suggest that there are liberal infiltrators/wolves in the church that are disguised as “Christian leaders, pastors, teachers”. I have always felt that liberals want to destroy this country and remodel it to conform to their ideology- which is of course, socialism/communism. They had to get into the church to do this because that is where they can best transform this country into it. Once you got the religion, you have the people.
This does not surprise me one bit about your article.

    trust4himonly,

The biggest lie out there is that Calvinists are conservatives or what we tend to think of as conservative (small government, individual freedom, etc)

One thing I am noticing is that in some situations in the SBC the “Calvinists” are referring to problems in some Baptist colleges as “Liberals” (harking back to the Conservative Resurgence of the 80’s that was so popular and won power) taking over and getting rid of “conservatives” so they have to intervene. When you do your homework, you find that the “conservative” the college did not give tenure to was actually a Calvinist teaching John Piper as if he is a scholar.

They are attempting to co opt the word ‘conservative’ to describe what is really Calvinist. It really isa brilliant ploy in the SBC.

Calvinist cannot be conservative as we tend to think of that term politically. Man has no volition and must be led by those more enlightened. They are totalitarian which can be anything from Communist, Socialist to Fascism. It is all the same side of the coin. Man cannot have freedom to decide because he won’t decide right. Someone has to decide for him.

Alex, read your article- very good. I think both you and Paul targeted on something that I have not seen or heard anyone blog or post about- the connections between these guys and the liberal socialist agenda.
I have seen the connection for awhile, but never thought anyone would take me seriously.

      T4H, Lydia,

I have been aware for some time that the New Calvinists have a political agenda. Reality is that Mohler, Dever, and MacArthur’s ministry have a very weird relationship with the United Nations. The goal is to get in bed with the government because part and parcel with Calvinism is dominion theology. People at MacArthur’s church were muzzled for inquiring about the GCC/UN relationship. An outsider who wanted to meet with a GCC member about it was informed that GCC elders instructed the parishioner not to meet with him, apparently under threat of church discipline. The meeting was cancelled. I sat in a NC church right here in Xenia and listened to a sermon by a Cedarville professor that was nothing short of a communist manifesto. At a dinner some months later, someone mentioned that the surprising buzz around campus was the revelation that the same guy voted for Obama. Susan and I shared that it was not a surprise to us at all.

Paul, What concerns me is how fake they are about it. Al Mohler continues his culture war on his blog and no one is the wiser. However, did you read Russell Moore’s interview on the Zimmerman/Martin case? It is becoming obvious that facts don’t matter.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/an-interview-with-russell-moore-of-the-southern-baptist-convention/2013/07/18/40957c32-ef2a-11e2-bed3-b9b6fe264871_story.html

I really think there is another angle. They need warm bodies in their movement and many of them are young and socialistic. They are also appealing to them. They are in recruiting mode. Russ Moore is the SBC guy in DC now. And he has always leaned liberal when it comes to business/economy. But Patriarchal when it comes to women. (He used to work for Democrat congressman from MS before he went to seminary to become Mohler’s protege’. The congressman was not reelected)

The other problem is that the “religious right” was their own worst enemy, politically. It is not about social issues but constitutional constraints of government.
