Paul's Passing Thoughts

Bad Fruit

project-2016-logo-4“Seeing yourself as evil can initially save you, but you must also continue to see yourself as evil in order to keep yourself saved, and faithfulness to the church continues to atone for your evil. That’s church orthodoxy. Why do we therefore marvel that there is evil in the church? It is a gathering of self-proclaimed evil doers! The church’s orthodoxy calls for this worldview of man’s plenary evil in no uncertain terms while post Revolution Americanism muddied the evangelical waters. Truly, there is no people group on earth more confused about their true identity than church-going Catholics and Protestants. Christ framed this issue with the epitome of simplification: if you find bad fruit on a tree, examine the tree.”

Evil in the Church

project-2016-logo-4“Hence, as we have seen, authority is a major pillar of the church. That is the what, but we must also look at the why?Why is authority so important to the institutional church? As we will see, the reasons for authority propagate evil in the church, the resulting doctrines create evil in the church, and the authority in and of itself creates evil in the church. Stated another way: the core ideology/philosophy creates evil, the theology produced by the ideology creates evil, and the authority claimed also creates evil. Even more specifically, what produces evil in the church is three-fold: it comprises three elements that create evil independently.”
