Paul's Passing Thoughts

Did Wade Burleson Really Say That?

Posted in Uncategorized by Paul M. Dohse Sr. on November 15, 2013

“Pastor” Wade Burleson is at it again. As a follower of one of the forefathers of New Calvinism, Jon Zens, he continues to sell himself as a kinder, gentler Calvinist heretic. However, at times, he has a slip of the tongue that reveals what is really in his Calvinist black heart. His latest snafu is a Calvinist classic–not sure how you get a 5-part series out of that, but Unreforming Theology .com managed somehow. A disclaimer: I am writing a book right now and do not have time to vet these articles. Nevertheless, someone should have a say about what he said, and my friend at UT .com seems to be the only one speaking up. Here is part one, the other 4 can be found onsite.

More Harassment from HeartCry and Christ Church Radford

Post it Joel. Why keep that done in darkness in the darkness. Bring it into the light.

Just when you thought these guys may have grown up and gotten a life, I get news of this:

Anthony Mathenia, above, the poster boy pastor at Christ Church Radford (formerly Radford Fellowship, the Paul Washer church plant) recently called our church and wants some answers about me.

Who are you Anthony? Better, who are you an elder to? I would ask the same of Marc Glass, the other ‘pastor’ who thinks he’s God.

Not me, son. Do I answer to you young man? I don’t think so.

Anthony, what, in your new calvinist mind ever made you think that you would get away with your covert operations to slander a preacher of God’s Word?

Anthony, of course, is the young man who demanded that I repent and be restored to the fellowship after I took my family away from this dangerous, cultish bunch. I haven’t posted his demand, but…

Joel Beeke Goes Ecumenical, Joins the New Calvinist March Back to Rome

The post below was originally written July of 2012 by Ralph Ovadal and Ivan Foster. It contains much information (and links) revealing how Dr. Joel Beeke has left the solid foundations of Biblical theology and compromised himself in the New Calvinist march back to Rome – a road on which all new calvinists are walking, regardless of whether they know it or not. It’s an important read which I encourage you to chew on and reflect in light of God’s Word, the final authority in all things. Also, there has been an update regarding Dr. Beeke, which you can find at the link at the end of the post. Please read, thanks. – Joel

There is an old saying, “If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it’s a duck.” Now, when it comes to at least some New Calvinists, that saying…

Contemplate Only the Gospel, Remain Immature in the Faith

Posted in Uncategorized by Paul M. Dohse Sr. on November 15, 2013

Joel Taylor's avatar5 Pt. Salt

There is a movement afoot for sometime now that would keep the Church in milk and wallow in immaturity. Don’t get me wrong, the milk of God is pure, wonderful and much needed. However, to remain on the milk of God’s Word is the goal neither of God for His redeemed ones according to His Word, nor of the Christian, or, at least, should not be.

Today, again, Paul Washer tweeted this oft heard slogan:

It is true that the angels knowledge of man’s salvation is incomplete, for they long to look into the mystery of salvation. (I Peter 1:12). Yet salvation for the Christian entails more than the initial Gospel, doesn’t it?

Please do not misunderstand me, we are indeed saved by God’s work through the preaching of the Gospel alone. True, and amen.

Yet amidst the entirety of salvation there is sanctification – mortification of sins – and…

Grasping the Gospel

Posted in Uncategorized by Paul M. Dohse Sr. on November 15, 2013

Joel Taylor's avatar5 Pt. Salt

I am angry.

Not in a sinful way, but I am angry.

I am angry that there are preachers and teachers out there in this world who are doing their dead-level best to convince you, my brethren, that you will never fully comprehend the Gospel.

Listen to me. If you cannot comprehend the Gospel, you cannot be saved at all. If you cannot grasp the Gospel in this life before it is over for you, you will die in your sins and suffer eternal punishment in Hell under the wrath of God Almighty, forever, do you understand that?

If you cannot grasp the Gospel, than God stuttered, did not communicate clearly, and your damnation will have an excuse, but that is not the case, is it?

No, God did not stutter, He did not mis-communicate, He was not vague, nor did He make the one thing necessary for salvation incomprehensible…
