Bridges is conflating holiness with righteousness. They are not the same thing. Righteousness has to do with one’s metaphysical existence. Holiness refers to the way one conducts oneself, ie; actions and behavior. The word literally means to be distinct from that which is common or ordinary. The context of God’s exhortation in Leviticus 20:7 was a call to Israel to separate themselves from the all the pagan cultures and practices around them so as to be a unique and distinct people. Peter used that same exhortation to holiness (1 Peter 1:15-16) as a call for those believers to come out and separate from the same pagan culture as well as the institutional religious establishment of the Jews and had nothing to do with their position before God…since they were already saved (duh).

As usual, the conflating of terms and concepts serves only to confuse the laity so as to keep them under the influence of tyrants who care nothing for their spiritual well-being and only seek to serve their own lustful self-interests.

“The virgin birth shows that salvation must be of God, its an almight ‘no’ to all works righteousness?”

How? It simply doesn’t. “Well you couldn’t be born of a virgin by your own righteousness.” Because its a miracle. It has nothing to do with righteousness. It has to do with miracles.

These people will claim anything supports their position. “Judas hanging himself shows that salvation must be of God, its an almight ‘no’ to all works righteousness.” “The beasts in Daniel show that salvation must be of God, its an almight ‘no’ to all works righteousness.” “The command to not mix wool and linen in the same garment shows that salvation must be of God, its an almight ‘no’ to all works righteousness.” “Sampson having long hair shows that salvation must be of God, its an almight ‘no’ to all works righteousness.” “David committing adultery with Bathsehba shows that salvation must be of God, its an almight ‘no’ to all works righteousness.” “Somon’s harem lady in Song of Songs saying she is dark but lovely shows that salvation must be of God, its an almight ‘no’ to all works righteousness.”

They can’t be wrong because they can just assert every verse means the same thing. Just like Muslims who would take John 1:1 to say that Jesus is not God and was a Muslim!
