In 1 Cor 9:24-27 when Paul says that stuff about running and such about how those that run or do sports must follow the rules or be disqualified and he himself “keeps his body under” to pfevent being disqualified, how can this have reference to anything but the most obvious thing in the same chapter (context)?
i.e.
1 Cor 9:21 “To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.”
That he never lives fully lawless, for even among the lawless where he behaves lawless he is never fully lawless for he is under the law of Christ.
Even in our modern “participation trophy” culture, Does someone who is disqualified still get a participation trophy?
