    Yes, it’s like people who have to see their doctor at least once every two weeks; you know, for that check-up, so that they can feel better about something that has not changed, and so the doctor can be happy about her/his bank balance that has changed.

    Or this statement about once saved, always heaven-bound, reminds me about that program that helps you quit smoking within only 20 years, but you have to see the therapist once a week and pay him every time for 20 years. Those who realize that they are willingly and knowingly poisoning themselves will stop smoking immediately, but the therapist (read: the rapist) will never tell you that you’re polluting yourself. She/he will tell you nonsense like we have to save the whale, put the ice back at the poles, and hug a tree, and that it takes time to quit…one dollar at a time. If you go cold turkey, your toenails will fall out and your teeth will hurt. And people believe these quacks just like they believe the Protestant/Calvinist/Reformed liars and deceivers.
