We have a perfect example of this right now in the middle of Lent. The RCC prohibits eating meat on Fridays. Yet the only reason fish is not considered “meat” is be cause at one time some influential fisherman petitioned some cardinal or bishop to decree it so as not to bring harm to the local fishing economy.

The Popes will not only insist on what you need to do but also are the police on what is permissible. A local Southern Baptist Church is advertising a Saturday Carnival — smack dab in the middle of Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. Does anyone study history? The carnival is pagan! It was adopted by the Roman Church like other pagan customs. This is where Madris Gras came from. Indulge yourself right up to Fat Tuesday and feast on immorality before Lent.
