Spoke with a staunch Calvinist and she told me the word ‘trinity’ is not in the Bible.

“What’s your point?” I asked. (I knew already, but it’s fun sometimes to humor them followers of men/women.)

“Oh,” she said, “the words ‘Reformed’ and ‘Calvinist’ are also not in the Bible and yet you believe in the Trinity but you deny the biblical truths of Calvinism?”

“Yes,” I answered. “The Bible does not even hint at Calvinism or the ‘Doctrines of Grace’ (they love using that phrase because you dare not speak against that lest you wanna be killed on the spot by a flying concertina, a barracuda, an angry school of piranha, or the Ebola virus because you are “mocking” the sovereign god and Calvin and Luther and MacArthur and whatnot). The Bible makes it clear, fairly early on, that God is three persons in One, all equally God.”

The Calvinist was not done. “Oh, and Calvin did not start Calvinism. It’s been there all along (where? In the ESV?) and I do NOT follow Calvin!”

“Oh, that’s great. So, please tell me when you were saved?’ I asked.

Silence, or as they also like to say . . . crickets.
