The Spirit so clearly distinguishes between two types of people in your verse: Unsaved (everyone who has accepted, oops, been “given the knowledge” of Calvin and MacArthur,– pieces of stuff be upon them– and everyone who is NOT born-again), and those who are saved (born-again/New Birth). God’s Spirit does not hint at an all-hold-hands-gray-area where everyone is swimming in the same pool–those who are elect, or may not be elect, or may be sometimes; and those who are not elect, ever, and may never be, most of the time.

And in all this confusion, they are all waiting excitedly to stand in front of the White Judgement Throne of God, where Piper hopes his progressive justification will be confirmed, and where it will all come together. “Zap!” like that. Maybe, baby. Maybe I don’t think so. You see, our God is not a God of confusion and has never been. Conversely, people are the confused ones.

“People, people who follow people…are the most confused people in the world.” (Thanks, Barbra Streisand)

(And this is for Calvinists everywhere; hope you sort yourselves out soon. We are praying for you.)

    “Confusion, such a terrible thing.
Confusion, you don’t know what you’re saying.”

Please sing along. The lyrics are there, in b/w, just in case you get confused.
