“Be sure of this: any disagreement by any churchman in regard to any point of Calvinism constitutes a misunderstanding of what church is. Any aversion to Calvin by any churchman can be likened to a Communist rejecting the big three of Moa, Stalin, and Marx. To the degree that one rejects Calvin, one also rejects church orthodoxy found in Augustine and Luther. It constitutes an embarrassing confusion of one’s identity. If you are faithful to church, you are faithful to John Calvin whether wittingly or unwittingly. Protest if you will, but your protest is misinformed.”
