Michael Horton (Christ United Reformed Church. Adult Sunday School. Introduction to Calvinism)
“This time around with a subject most of you are familiar with. I hope as we are going along you will bring some friends who are inquisitive and wondering what this whole business is about. One of the things I’m going to be aiming at is a lot of the caricatures and stereotypes of Calvinism. Calvinism, the very word itself, raises the temperature in the room just a tad. If you want to get rid of friends who are staying a little too late after dinner, just say, “In five minutes we are going to start a discussion on Calvinism.”, and that’ll be really good, and you can get a good night’s sleep.

But that’s because of a lot of caricatures. So, over these next several weeks, hopefully wherever you are on that journey, no matter how many years you have spent on the Reformation Road, we will encounter somethings that are new, some approaches you can use in your conversations with your family and close friends about how to explain Reformed Christianity in a way that makes them stop thinking it’s a cult.”

Well, if they are conducting classes on how to get others to not view them as a cult, then they already are one.
By the way, Michael Horton (“we will encounter some things that are new, some approaches “) — “nothings new under the sun” Ecclesiastes 1:9

This guy is obviously a satan worshiper in a thin disguise. He has the exact same hairstyle as Anton LaVey, and he’s wearing black – AT A CHURCH PULPIT. Does he ever let the audience see the book on the podium from which he’s reading? All I can see is that it has a BLACK cover. Also, take a look at what’s in the background on the stage in the video. Need I say more?

      David,

Your prophet’s mantle is so heavy that this four-word unction has thrown me into total turmoil. Woe unto me, I am completely undone.

…I strolled over to your blog to see what is not absurd. I see that regurgitating everything DA Carson and John Piper say is your definition of unabsurd. If only I could be an expert at thinking other people’s thoughts like you.
