    Hi Andy ( and Paul),

I have a question about the sheet mentioned in Acts 10:11. The following comes from a Jewish Messianic website.

“Finding the word “tallit” in the New Testament is difficult because in Greek there is no single word for tallit. Instead a word such as “hem” or some other word such as “sheet” or “garment” and others have been used.

Simon Peter who was the son of Jonas was appropriately named since he reacted with such reluctance to the gentiles like the prophet Jonah. Notice the prayer shawl in Peter’s vision, “And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descended unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit ( this knitting at the corners is a hint that the sheet is not a regular sheet) at the four corners, and let down to the earth”

God was showing Peter that even unclean men may enter into the prayer shawl”.

It was through Chris Rosebaugh ( Fighting For The Faith) that I became aware of the Hebrew Roots Movement, which is quite large and growing, drawing many Christians ( most being gentiles…a few Jewish) back under bondage of the Mosaic Law and following the Torah. Chris is a Lutheran minister, but he has a degree in Biblical languages and knows both Greek and Hebrew. What happened in the first century assemblies continues today in many ways, doesn’t it.

Do you know of a reputable ministry that addresses how Christians of Jewish ancestory should worship God the Father today?

      Hi Carmen,

Susan and I were recently part of the Messianic (Jewish roots) movement. I even did some teaching in the movement. Total confusion, and heavily infiltrated by Neo-Calvinists. The leaders of our group were followers of Philo’s Jewish tradition and taught mostly from the Jewish Sages. Honestly, folks need to just pick-up a Bible and start from scratch with home fellowships.
