Well said. Even in this day & age of unprecedented knowledge at our fingertips they are keeping themselves in business. To know God yourself is too complex = you need them to explain for you… until you stand face to face with Jesus. That’s when they deliver you over to Him. Nope, nada, not! We are to be a priesthood of believers, no one over or under another!
We are responsible for ourselves. We are to be Bereans, not sitters & listeners alone. It’s good & right to ask, seek, check. If those actions are uncomfortable for a teacher or preacher, it is a red flag. Run quick & fast. A teacher of truth will relish questions, endless questions. Why? It means others care, are thinking, trying to understand, & want to know. A teacher of truth will not push & will be okay if you disagree. They know faith is your choice.
JD Hall is some kind of Reformed Preacher in Montana and has blog “Pulpit and Pen”.
His blog got my attention when Peter Lumpkins had a video on his blog (I think in January, you can go back in Lumpkins archieves) of Fred Phelps proclaiming the “Arminian” Billy Graham destiny is hell and in the same clip JD Hall proclaim that Ergun Caner wasn’t saved because he was “Un-Regenerate” and unrepentent.
I was appalled by the boastful and confident proclamations displayed by both Phelps and Hall of their perceived views of Graham’s and Caner’s current status with God, that appeared more celebratory rater than concern.
I don’t know Caner who claims to have repented, JD is constantly calling Caner out in his blog and on twitter. If he isn’t calling Caner a liar he is making fun and mocking his last name, among other things.
I don’t know Caner so I choose not to dispute or defend whether or not he has repented. I do however take acception of Hall’s Methodology.
