Immelism
Know this: Virtue in a vacuum is like the proverbial sound in the forest–irrelevant without a witness. Character is no private deed. To retreat is nothing more than a man closing his eyes and shutting his mouth to injustice.
Virtues are not estimates to be lofted gently against evil.
Virtues are not to be withheld from view in the name of grace.
Virtues are not to be politely swallowed in humble realization that we are all just sinners anyway.
Love is not a moral blank check against the endless tide of indulgent action.
Love is not blind to the cause and effect of reality.
Love is not indifference to plunder and injustice and servitude.

And also: “Misguided” cannot be used as a rational euphemism for “evil”.
I learned this after pondering John’s philosophy for many, many hours. I finally realized that what I assumed was merely “misguided” as a function of my arrogant assumptions of my oh-so-humble Christian “grace”, was really bald-faced evil and apostasy.
And, unlike “misguided”, bald-faced evil and apostasy, are in fact rational euphemisms for Calvinism.

Recently, I was told that my denigration of false teachers was too harsh. And this from a follower of Todd Bentley, who has been banned from entering two countries because of his violence.
I gave her some samples from Scripture about false teachers. They make me sound like Pollyanna.

Argo, taking this to it’s logical conclusions as you wrote about on your blog means there can never be any moral standards except that which the tyrants decide at that time. It is confusing and chaotic. I sort of liken it to calling evil good and good evil.
I do think the determinst decreetal god paradigm institutionalizes evil and calls it misguided. You know, Calvin was brilliant and a great man of God EVEN THOUGH he horribly persecuted other believers.
I have to ask, where is the Holy Spirit in their paradigm? Why aren’t more people asking that?
