“Thanks, but I find myself somewhat sad because of stinking American jurisprudence which will prevent me from obtaining the ultimate confirmation from these mystic despots: getting burned at the stake. Slander seems so boring in comparison.”

As Hannah Arnedt: The banality of evil.

yeh Lydia- I was going that direction too- did not know much about Calvinism. Although….I have to admit as a child growing up around Baptists there were threads of it that ran through, but not outright Reformed. Now my husband, however, grew up going to a New Covenant Reformed school and it did wreak some damage. The fatalistic mindset was what led to some bad decisions and my husband continually felt that God was punishing him when bad things happened.

The “Christian” word speak is what bothers me the most….outright deceptive!

Let me get this straight – he thinks that you will have to answer (God?) for not letting him speak about what Calvinists believe. Who is he following? Is he a disciple of Jesus Christ or Calvin?

I have not experienced inherent evil in the five points of Calvinism over the past twenty years. But I have seen “Christian elders and pastors” so seduced in their own sell righteousness that they turned from the congregation who put them in power and who they had sworn to embrace, to take ultimate command of the castle to represent a new progressive theology and to become the commanders of the “flagship” church of their denomination. Anyone who questioned their motives were not treated well. The TRUTH left that church and has not returned to this day. Their was so much hurt inflicted on the longstanding congregation. The shock of the ultimate betrayal by those you have had such trust in for so many years was not comprehensible for the first few months. It is suchactions as these that cause passionate men such as Paul to respond so harshly. The church is broken in America. Paul wants to stop the lying and hurt and the use of God as a weapon for men to satisfy their need for adoration. Paul is fighting evil. Of course there are a lot of good men and churches out their but just look at our presidential election. We are a dying country.

I often wonder if Calvinist churches have “pot luck” fellowships since every dish was already pre-ordained.
