In other words — sit down and shut up you dumb uninformed (and who should be informing and teaching you?) members. This is so very unbalanced. It will breed abuse. The same abuse we have seen being exposed and, in some cases, that has gone in for generations.

      Bridget,

If you haven’t read Immel’s “Blight in the Vinyard,” he explains thoroughly why people would actually sit and listen to that and say, “Amen!”

The dreaded…. “facebook curse?” Never heard of that one. Is it really deadly? Does it go on our FB pages and, instead of our smiling, family-filled entries, it reverses that and shows the world who we really are? LOL

Oh– who in the world takes him seriously?…unfortunately, many.

Thanks, Paul. I have read his book. I have also been in SGM. Unfortunately, reformed teaching is rampant in all the SGM churches now. The takeover there (like we are seeing in other denoms now) started about 15 years ago when CJ started introducing all the books from the reformed authors and got aligned with TGC and T4G. I think it was a comfortable move for CJ as he come from a Catholic background and it is much easier to have a ruling class that keeps everyone in line 🙂 than trusting in the work of the Holy Spirit in peoples lives. That’s not always as timely as the ruling class would like and would then require sanctification in the lives of the ruling class as well! As we now see, the rulers can become pretty resistant to sanctification.
