My laptop keeps locking up about halfway through each video. But I was able to the gist of what went on. I was especially interested in your comment that at a pastors conference it was taught that taking away ministry in the Body should be used as a reprimand. Of course, the problem is disagreeing with the leaders is the sin they are concerned about.

Also, we cannot in good conscious recommend any church to people unless we are absolutely convinced it is not one of these control churches. The havoc it wrecks on lives is enormous.

I met a woman yesterday who left a church after 30 years in ministry there as SS teacher, etc. She said that there is so much secrecy involved from the newer leaders and by the time the tolerant, loving people figure it out, their power is ingrained and the only course is to leave your own church. And this is a well known church in the SBC.

My plea to people is do not sign anything. Let your yes be yes…..NEVER sign anything to be a member of the Body of Christ.

  Sad, and hyper-true on every point that you make here. Susan and I have been visiting around. ALL of the sermons are designed to undermine self confidence and gain more control.
