    Paul,

It is interesting…your comment. The Calvinists do seem to have this underlying assumption that it is actually a sin for anyone to be happy. So, if they can’t drub you into the fetal position with their Dr. Seuss theology, which turns to powder the moment anyone with an average IQ begins to study it, they’ll resort to third grade playground insults. (John Edwards and Calvin were infamous for mixing insults and heavy disdain into their “theological treatises”). Eventually, as we have seen from history, they’ll resort to outright threats, and eventually to murder (they LOVE civil power; that’s when they can really stop answering the insolent barbarian masses; a noose makes for them a great theological weapon). I continue to use a blog alias because I seriously don not trust these people. They are vicious, angry, consumed with lust for control, and hate human life. This makes for an outright disturbed personality.

The ideas of the Calvinists must be brought to light and defeated like a lion is killed in the Roman arena. Their theology destroys people both literally and figuratively.

Keep up the good work, and never let them steal your joy!

      Argo,

      Good points, and….

There is absolutely no difference in his insults and the theology of total depravity. The goal is to undermine self confidence for the purpose of control.

I found Argo’s comment quite chilling. Eventually, as we have seen from history, they’ll resort to outright threats, and eventually to murder (they LOVE civil power; that’s when they can really stop answering the insolent barbarian masses; a noose makes for them a great theological weapon).

They love civil power – – – – so much that they sue former congregants who question them.

I think that there’s enough obnoxious stupidity in the world to go around. For instance, this video of a non-Calvinist preacher who was found out to be having sex with a 16-year-old girl who was a member of his congregation. You both have probably seen this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NqN9Oan3YnU

      Jeff,
The more I hang out with Immel, the more I realize that OWNERSHIP is the issue and errant theologies are designed for the purpose of CONTROL. Schaap was part of the Jack Hyles dynasty (and his son-in-law) which was predicated on extremely heavy-handed leadership and control. Hyles literally owned half of Hammond Indiana and was untouchable. His family and followers raped, pillaged and plundered at will. David Hyles is still a person of interest in a murder. An outcry from the local media and numerous victims fell on deaf ears. Hyles was one of the kings of the first gospel wave and the arrangement was fairly simple:come to church, tithe 10%, and walk the isle and kneel for the alter call if you had done something really bad. Truth, rightness, and justice was absolutely NOT the issue, and anybody who didn’t get that was ruined in Hammond. Done. Hyles could ruin your name and cause you to loose your job–to name a few options. A man who objected to Hyles having an affair with his wife was ruined because Hyles claimed that the guy was a homosexual. Turn out the lights for that guy; if Hyles said it–it was gospel and as good as true in Hammond.

The easy believeism of the first gospel wave offered absolution on the wide road in exchange for obedience, but if you left them alone and stayed off their turf, you probably didn’t have to worry about coming up missing.
Reformed pastor kings present a much bigger problem because of their dominion/Amil theology. As Doug Wilson has said:”Every corner of the Earth is rightfully ours.” Add chill up back.

The only reason he is attacking you physically is because he can’t attack you in any other way because you’re right! haha poor guy, grasping for straws. What would he have attacked had you been slim/trim/clean cut and well spoken? Your office organization skills?! lol

      Heather,
Actually, the light bulb went on about an hour ago. This guy (perplexing) has been severely harassing me for several months. I am even in the process of working with our attorney to see what can be done about it. Then the light bulb turned on. I will try to get it in this afternoon.

This is why I am actually glad we have a mixture of beliefs and religions in our government today. I use to think “Oh, would it not be great to have a complete Christian nation”- then I think about these guys. No thanks….. As long as our country knows where it came from and stay with the Christian principles that our Founding Fathers (who by the way were of different beliefs) laid down in the Constitution then we are better off. It is great to be in a melting pot. Our only responsibility as Christians is not a Church-State but to be salt and light wherever we go and tell the good news of Jesus Christ.

This is exactly it. Both waves are the Nicolaitans at work in what passes for Christendom. The problem with New Calvinism is worse because their Augustinian/Calvin interpretation of scriptures give them free reign to lord it over the masses. They won’t be happy until all fall under “their” specially anointed dominion.

Hey, I have been reading quite a few blogs where Calvinist and Non Calvinists are going at it. Guess which side most often used ad homenim? They have to or else they will eventually be backed into the corner where God is the author of evil. All they have left is deflection. Calvinism only works well when it is a theocracy/state church because you can’t dissent without threat of imprisonment, bannishment or worse.

The absolute worst thing to happen to Calvinism is the internet where ideas and information roam freely without the magistrates.

      Lydia,
As either Dee or Deb said, I forget which, the internet is the neo-Gutenberg press. She is absolutely right. The blogosphere is the mystical despot’s worst nightmare.

Paul, I meant to add earlier that poor Roy sounds like he would love to be one of the crowd itching to light the faggot if it were the 16th century and it were legal.

And never forget. Martin Luther HATED “reason”. Thought it was evil.

All these things have been passed down with the “religio-despotism”. One cannot have “thinking” followers or they cease to be followers at some point if they actually would think and use reason. :o)

Apparently, Heather is acknowledging you are not slim, trim, clean cut or well-spoken. That has to hurt. And then she even seems to have a problem with your office organizational skills. Hum? The reason I couldn’t respond the the theology in this vid is that there wasn’t any theology. Just some ignorant hick whining about how he has been treated.
