I think it’s safe to say that there’s no danger of TK getting stoned for this witness.

I was privileged to study law under Herb Titus. Herb would have knocked this one out of the park.

“I think it’s safe to say that there’s no danger of TK getting stoned for this witness.” I so needed that–laughing is good for the heart. Yes, for most Christians it’s a yes/no answer with the answer being an unhesitating “yes.”

Our 14 year old listened to this. He said, “It was sickening from the very first ‘If’.”

Paul, haven’t been around here for a while but I agree that this isn’t a stellar moment for Keller. However, he did publish an apology and clarification for this interview on the gospel coalition website. You can see it here: http://thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/tgc/2011/09/13/keller-on-salvation-outside-of-christ/

    Paul and Andy,

We cannot deny the contributions made to the Body of Christ by even the most confused members. Sometimes limbs break but eventually they heal. Here is a website that is priceless in its worth, in that it is able to highlight many particular truths, from the likes of John Piper or Tim Keller, in order to arrive at the Greatest Truth. It also lists “Evangelicals Intuitively Supporting Christian Universalism.”

Why is fact used in the commission of deception so hard for you to understand? A teacher, by virtue of the very definition, is taking you to a specific conclusion. If the conclusion is dangerous and destructive, how is fact used in the execution of such relevant? Furthermore, the question of drawing stand-alone conclusions from elements of the purpose is no better and even more illogical. Um, I am going to stop short of asking if your mother dropped you on your head when you were born, but your arguments against the obvious is beginning to annoy me.

    Paul,

Notice a pattern. You approve of some of my posts but reject others. Aren’t you doing exactly what I’m pushing for? You approve of some particular truths that I present while reject others that do not yet align with your own philosophy. So for all intents and purposes you already are doing that, which according to my philosophy, is right.

Ironically, you even approved my post in which I reasoned that censorship is in a way dehumanizing to any blog, as it removes indications of our human passion for Truth.

Finally I quote you from the following article:

    https://paulspassingthoughts.com/2013/08/06/the-joy-bennett-gospel-salvation-by-a-confused-doubtful-journey-and-the-conversation-on-censorship-continues/

“As PPT readers know, I am on a journey of sorts to determine what I want to do about those of differing beliefs that comment on PPT. I had decided to just censor them, but then I was talked out of that by some folks I respect. Then I was almost talked into reversing my position by others that I also respect, until today. Now I want to think this through more because today I was on the other end of some really nasty censorship.

How do I perceive the person who censored me? Well, we will get to that, but for now, let’s just say it’s not how I want my message to be evaluated; i.e., it can’t withstand a fight in the arena of ideas.”

I respect you dearly Paul and want to remind you of the truth in Luke 8:17. It ought to make your Life’s journey easier by dispelling your apprehension about censorship.

    Martin
