    Paul,

that quote sums up well Tullian’s doctrine of assurance, making our calling and election sure. Very consistent with the Antinomian teaching that “it’s all been done for you.” Of course, it’s prophecying falsely that obedience to Christ does NOT have to accompany salvation. Once again, the Antinomian Anti-Lordship Salvation crowd (Charles Stanely, Charles Ryrie, Lewis Sperry Chafer, and Zane Hodges) would fully embrace Tullian’s quote. How ironic, the late Dr. James D. Kennedy and others at Coral Ridge Ministries were most outspoken against the Anti-Lordship doctrines. Obviously, Tullian has forcefully overthrown and reversed all this. I believe if Kennedy were alive he and Tullian would be arch-enemies! How sad, many that were in that Coral Ridge congregation have literally been robbed of the church facilities they built.

    Here’s another post, same place:

Tullian: THE ROOT OF SIN Nov 25, 2011
The gospel declares that I don’t need to save myself, defend myself, legitimize myself, justify myself, free myself, OR IN ANY OTHER WAY, ensure that the ultimate verdict on my life is pass and not fail. The gospel frees me from the obsessive pressure to avoid the judgement of joylessness, the enslaving demand to find happiness.”

I guess Tullian thinks David became “the man after God’s own heart” by doing nothing and this is how we “honor the Word of the Lord.” And, pursuing happiness by delighting in the Law of the Lord (Psalm 1) is “enslaving”?

      Bill,

Yes, interesting: antinomianism via hyper free will and hyper Calvinism. “We don’t have to do anything” and….”We can’t do anything.”
