@ Ligon Duncan
Duncan is a disgrace to the ministry. Where is the outcry for the victims of SGM? Instead, notable leaders run to the side of their abusers? I will not be silent. Reformed tyrants can dream their filthy dreams on earth all they want to; God will not “bind” their behavior in heaven.
I should add my $.02.

JA,
Why not, you’re in the same doghouse as I am anyway.

Done! and I noticed another person “Steve” did as well. Since they go blathering on about how much “gospeling” they are doing via social media, I don’t see why we should be withholding our disgust at their blatant hypocrisy.

JA,
No doubt. Since we are to take every thought captive, and twitter has thoughts–it’s fair game.

You guys watch your back. These guys are deceptive and do their “discipline” of detractors through the backdoor.

Lydia,
Duncan is despicable. I have more respect, actually, immensely more respect for the working girls downtown. Thanks for the warning, but I am not sure the NC crowd can do anymore to me than what they have done. I can also tell you that I am a firm believer in the public rebuke of elders. I have done it before, and can do it again. The best time to do it is 5 minutes into the sermon, and the larger the congregation, the better. And of course, afterward, you hit the “send” button on the mass email explaining to the congregation why you did it.

Good for you. I’d like to quote Duncan’s infamous words, uttered shortly after Brent Detwiler’s files were published online: “I would then encourage you to ignore the assaults of wounded people on attack websites and blogs, and that you discount the opinings of those who have no real knowledge of these matters or relation to SGM or authority to comment upon them, and that you refrain from assuming that you (or they) are in a position to render judgment on these things.”
Of course, neither Duncan nor any of the big shots have commented publicly on the lawsuit.

Jeff,
1. “I would then encourage you to ignore the assaults of wounded people on attack websites and blogs,”: He admits they are wounded, but that’s not the point. The totally depraved don’t deserve justice. Furthermore, getting raped isn’t the point, how that event glorifies God in the predestined scheme of the gospel meta-narrative is the point. By not excepting the event and seeking justice, the “wounded” are not “entering into the plot” of showing forth the gospel.
2. “and that you discount the opinings of those who have no real knowledge of these matters or relation to SGM” The knowledge of the philosopher kings are so much higher than yours, that even when it seems obvious that abuse occurred and it was covered up, that’s not really what’s going on. Please trust the higher knowledge of your local Reformed pastor king.
3. “or authority to comment upon them,”: Only the pastor kings have authority to speak to these matters. Anybody who speaks out is messing with God’s anointed who have been given all authority on earth.
4. “and that you refrain from assuming that you (or they) are in a position to render judgment on these things.” Only the philosopher kings can render judgement. The producers have no role in judging, they are the church’s producers. In America, Reformed elders have to fill the role of both philosopher king and soldier. And much to their frustration, there are laws that protect the producers. They must improvise because they are deprived of the stake and the gallows. Instead, they offer formal counseling where they can earn your trust and get documentation on your secret sins that can be used to blackmail you into silence or control if needed. This is one of many alternative controls that they have contrived.

Lydia: I’ve already been sued once and won. I’m not afraid of men, certainly not when they are not afraid of hurting countless people, breaking apart families, destroying lives. Someone has got to stand up for those who have no voices.
