Behold Tim Keller, New Calvinist Big Dog
Is this video disturbing, or is it just me?
2012 T4G Divisive Advertising Tactics
One of the key objectives in advertising is to create dissatisfaction with what you have, and then offer a solution. In the email advertisements I have been receiving from T4G, that is exactly what they are doing in regard to our personal walk and our church affiliations. Think about that—the goal is to create dissatisfaction with yourself, others, and your church. Not only that, we Christians have a tendency to be hard on ourselves and even harder on our church to begin with. To point out the things that Christians struggle with in regard to themselves and their church, and then claim to have the solution, is a form of manipulation that is unbecoming of men who call themselves elders.
Not only that, it’s divisive. Say pastors, any of your people going to the 2012 T4G? Well, they are going to be taught how bad you stink as an elder! It wouldn’t be so bad if their solutions were the real deal, but such is not the case. Sure, we have a problem with churches in our day, but antinomianism is certainly not the solution! New Calvinists are simply offering another version of what got us where we are today: easy believeism; for example, Paul David Tripp’s “resting and feeding” description of the Christian life. We have gone from a lack of emphasis on sanctification, to saying that sanctification doesn’t exist at all because it is the same thing as justification.
Tchividjian/Coral Ridge Hosting Brazen Antinomian Super Bowl
On February 23-25, 2012, Coral Ridge will host the inaugural Liberate Conference. A reader sent me the following promo link. I went ahead and posted the video portion below. No commentary needed on this. This bunch is openly antinomian and Tchividjian states the following in the promo: 1. Spiritual growth comes one way—going deeper and deeper into the same gospel that saved us 2. Their movement is rediscovering the lost gospel 3. They’re just getting warmed up.
And the Presbytery is simply not going to stand up to him and do anything about it. Christians, especially layman, have a choice: start a counter movement, or stand by and watch this happen.
So Far, Reviews From New Calvinists on PPT Campaign Not Positive
Bottom line: New Calvinism is a false gospel, came from Progressive Adventists, is spreading like a tsunami, turning churches into cult-like assemblies, splitting churches right and left, and leaving a mass of disillusioned people in its wake. Organizations like NANC are sending people in-mass to counselors who believe we are sanctified through Gospel Contemplationism. And few are doing anything. Time for bold action. So far, Reviews from New Calvinists on this PPT campaign are not positive:
Paul, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of your God-hating, Christ-rejecting, Spirit-blaspheming rebellion and spiritual adultery.
And….
I have news for you Paul, the fight began a long time before this A.M. I have rarely seen such a clear case of meglamania. And, you critize others for thinking they are reformers. Of course, you and Martin Do resemble each other in body style.
It’s time to start a serious push-back against this vile doctrine. Enough is enough. We can do something. Doing nothing is not an option.
