NANC’s Monetary Manifestation of the Gospel: A State by State Analysis; Massachusetts
Ministries like Psychoheresy Awareness Ministries (PAM) have been bellyaching for years that the biblical counseling movement is more about the money than helping people.
Well, first, NANC (The National Association of Nouthetic Counselors) which started out well until it was taken over by CCEF’s gospel contemplationism, is now predicated on a false gospel. As will be documented in “Clouds Without Water,” the former president of NANC, Randy Patton, officially declared war on the true gospel at the 2006 NANC national conference. He relegated the foundation of NANC counseling as doing nothing more than creating “better Pharisees.”
With all of the supposed spiritual brain trust encompassed in NANC, nobody is asking the obvious: Did NANC start with a true gospel or not? Come now; “better Pharisees” doesn’t = false gospel? Furthermore, the organization’s leaders mingle and cooperate as if this fundamental question does not exist within the organization—acting as if people can be helped by either gospel. What is the difference between this and politics?
And when we think about politics, money does come to mind, No? The Bible continually links false teachings to “filthy lucre.” So, if NANC is predicated on a false gospel, what else would one expect? Is it all about the money?
Supposedly, in the realm of gospel contemplationism, we fill our hearts with the gospel and whatever comes out “flows from the works of the gospel” and not our “own efforts.” Well then, what has NANC manifested with its gospel-centered counseling?
In researching this question for the upcoming book (research is complete on TTANC2 and almost complete on TRM), I thought I would share some of the research that might be included in the book. As we know, income levels in this country vary dramatically across ethnic lines. In my neck of the woods it is obvious that incomes are much higher in Centerville verses West Dayton etc.
On NANC’s website they have a counselor referral database by zip code. I am comparing the zip codes with available NANC counselors with zip codes that have a certain percentage of minorities which also reflects low income levels. But, I am choosing zip codes within the 50 percentile which reflects geography that is not necessarily poverty level. The list does not include any counties that do not have a zip code with less than a 50% population of minority families.
In my area, it is obvious that there are only NANC counselors in high income areas: Springboro, Beavercreek, Mason, Westchester, etc., but does that hold true for the rest of the country? Is this gospel manifestation a reflection of NANC policies? Are NANC counselors a horde of elitists?

SGM and the American Organized Church: The Totally Depraved and “Sinners Saved by Grace” Playing the Part
I guess the news is spreading fast; three women have filed a lawsuit against Sovereign Grace Ministries. Apparently, in between Jesus manifestations that take place when Christians contemplate the gospel, some molestation of children took place among the member churches and was covered up by SGM leaders. Culprits who “repent” and victims who “forgive” find favor with the philosopher kings, while pesky, self-righteous “Pharisees” who think righteous indignation is possible among the totally depraved are often brought up on church discipline for being “divisive” and not understanding the “grace and mercy of the gospel.”
Even the philosopher kings who have gospel contemplationism down pat and exhibit consistent Jesus manifestations defile themselves by lending credibility to ministries that perpetuate serial abuse, child rape, and tyranny. For example, the president of SGM, who is strongly endorsed by John MacArthur Jr., recently underwent an image makeover by Southern Baptist superstars Mark Dever and Al Mohler.
These men should have this kind of spin down pat because Southern Baptists are only rivaled by the Catholic Church in regard to child rape and the cover-up thereof. Neither do Regular Baptists propose to be left out as exhibited by the ABWE Bangladesh missionary kids scandal. And Independent Fundamental Baptists can boast of the Jack Hyles cartel that they covered for. Hyles and his followers raped, pillaged, and stole for more than thirty years unabated.
This isn’t rocket science. As covered thoroughly at the 2012 TANC Conference, this is the result of sixty years of hyper-grace, hyper-gospel theology. Listen to CJ Mahaney in the following clip, and then think about the biblical concept of, “….as a man thinks, so is he.” And keep in mind; he’s talking about Christians to a Christian audience:
Christians have been told for sixty years on a continual basis that they are “sinners” and “totally depraved” while being taught little more on a yearly basis than 365 versions of CJ Mahaney’s five-word gospel: “Christ died for our sins.”
I don’t know what the saints otherwise expect, but I can tell you this: they are fed-up. Though I am not at liberty to discuss it, more of these lawsuits are coming down the pike, and rightfully so. These are ministries and pastor kings that have been continually confronted and refuse to repent. Hence, they may now be treated “like publicans and tax collectors.” That equals a green light for taking them to court. Christians are no longer biblically obligated to treat these ministries as Christian. Many victims have invested untold hours, and dollars in an attempt to right wrongs (while other pastors ignore their cries for help) and should be granted restitution.
I will also tell you that I am totally done with the organized church, and I have a feeling that I am not alone. We now worship God here in our home every Sunday, and I think this is what’s coming more and more in the future: a return to home churches as it was in the first century.

Prayer Request for Upcoming Book Project
I am in the process of organizing my life in order to clear my schedule for the writing of three books. This is feasible because the research for each book is closely related and has been in process for a number of years. Also, readers of PPT have contributed to the research in various ways. Words cannot explain my appreciation.

One Reason Why Obama Might Win: Matthew 24:11,12
My brother and I ran a business together in the early 80’s. We saw firsthand what Jimmy Carter’s policies did to the lifeblood of the American economy—small business. Carter only won one state against Ronald Reagan in the election, and Reagan’s economic policies won him a second landslide victory four years later.
It would be immediately apparent to anybody my age that the Obama administration is Jimmy Carter 2. Why do Americans keep voting for policies that have a proven failure rate? Well, obviously, the results aren’t the issue, something else is.
And like Carter, Obama promises free stuff that can make life easier in the here and now. But what about the future of our children who will have to pay for it? Answer: it doesn’t matter, think, “Eat and drink for tomorrow we die.” This we can be certain of; coldhearted selfishness will increase with time:
Matthew 24:
11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.
If I am a small business owner, or a big one, the immediate financial boon resulting from having no healthcare costs (because the government is paying for it) is very attractive. What about the collapse of the American economy and death panels? Answer: “That won’t happen immediately, and by the time the stuff hits the fan, I will be dead or retired.” Look, in my vocation, I service some fairly large companies of which owners voted for Obama. It’s about the free stuff; it’s about the here and now. They won’t have to deal with the death panels, the average Joe who works for them will.
This is why “conservative” business owners vote for the likes of Obama. Undoubtedly, he got elected on the free healthcare angle. It was, and still is, hugely attractive to both business owners and the working class. “If I don’t have to pay for health care, I can get that man-cave I have always wanted in the basement—complete with a big screen TV and free beer for my friends.”
And the key to why Christians embrace this same mentality can be found in Matthew 24:11,12 as well. Christ said that “BECAUSE” of “lawlessness” that the hearts of many would become cold. The actual word for “lawlessness” in this passage is “anomia.” The “a” is a prefix that means, “anti” and the word “nomia” has to do with a moral standard. In Scripture, it is most often used to refer to God’s instruction concerning life and godliness. Unless you have been on vacation on another planet, you know that antinomianism has been chipping away at the American church since 1950.
Christ made it plain that this loveless mentality would increase with time. And as Christians continue to devalue the law, they will follow suit:
Psalm 119:70
their heart is unfeeling like fat,
but I delight in your law.
