The Calvinist Fandom

Posted in Uncategorized by Paul M. Dohse Sr. on May 19, 2024

Calvinism in our day is mostly a hip fandom where followers just regurgitate talking points by James White, Steve Lawson, and MacArthur et al. When you challenge them to connect the talking points in logical consistent thought, they can’t do it because the vast majority don’t know what Calvinism is.

Conclusion: her original post that boasted about her improved life as a Calvinist and subsequent thankfulness is completely contrary to Reformed Protestant orthodoxy. Pro tip for Calvinists: to be consistent with the orthodoxy, be thankful that God saved you and enabled you to see the depths of your depravity to better appreciate his grace and make the cross bigger. Your past life is irrelevant, was much worse than you think it was, and your post “salvation” life is even worse. If you want to be a Calvinist, please know what it is.

This ministry (TANC) began in 2010. This is the ONLY church message that I can point to that is the biblical gospel. Of course, when I get time, I will be looking further into this guy’s ministry, so, right now my very happy endorsement is limited to this video.

I don’t know where Andy stumbled onto this, but I thank him for sending it to me yesterday.
