Paul's Passing Thoughts

Protestants and Talking

If a Protestant talks for any length of time, the result is a logical dilemma. Let’s take this one by Spurgeon for example. There are 45,000 denominations worldwide. That’s “must” x 45k. That’s an authoritative claim x 45k.

Ultimately, it’s obvious that people are free to choose what authority they put themselves under. Sure, all 45k are going to claim they are right, but what thinking person is going to take that seriously? In the final analysis, free will is metaphysically evident.

Furthermore, since there are 45k different denominations, obviously, churches ARE determining what the Bible is saying. Many, many, many things Protestants say sound good, unless 10 seconds of critical thinking follows.
