Paul, realizing normal people did not like the despicable term “Calvinism,” that deceiving lot started using their “Doctrines of (dis)Grace” to make the evil sound less, uh, Calvinist. They caught many people who were (are) too lazy to use the intellect God has freely given.
Besides its many uses, I think the term “New Calvinism” is also used to attract the hipster brigades. I mean, doesn’t it sound funky and beardy and like expensive coffee? And oh-so-darn-mysterious?
