Way to go “Legion” Duncan. Why quote Jesus, Paul, John or other scripture when you can quote . . . Augustine! It’s God’s family you pompous patoot. No idea about the reality of the New Covenant in Jesus’ blood, including the birth from above/being born again. What a Protestant institutional tool.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” ~ John 1:12-13
Agreed, although Duncan and his ilk won’t come out and say Roman Catholic because of course, they are Protestant. Like there is any real difference, as you have rightly pointed out. Both are false good news understandings/doctrines but don’t worry about that. After all the Protestants have the mighty “reformers” on their side, LOL. 🎵 Insert sound of herald’s trumpet: Luther and Calvin to the rescue, “🎵 Here they are to save the day”! ;^)
Ah, the esteemed Fab Four (Flat Four, Fake Four?); Ambrose, Augustine, Gregory “the Great” and Jerome. How can it be that I was born again and leading a fairly peaceful and fulfilled life in Christ for more than two and a half decades before I ever heard of these guys? I think the RC’s are up to 36 Doctors now. “Traditi-ans” do not equal biblical Christians. Knowledge of Latin does not equal Saint.
Thanks for what you and your group has done and are doing Susan and Paul.

So, he is basically saying it’s a Catholic soteriology…no? Augustine is one of four doctors of grace for the Roman Catholic Church.
