Dr. Marc Monte: “Hyles Taught Me [How] to Love People” Yes, We Know That Doc

“During the Hyles controversy, a test for fellowship among IFB churches was  ‘100% Hyles.’ Those who would not affirm that were run out of said churches. I assume Faith Baptist of Avon, Indiana was a member of that club.”

Well, someone had to replace Jack Hyles and Jack Schaap as Don of the IFB cartel. But who could ever measure up to that level of brutality? They would have to dismiss outrageous crimes against humanity in the name of God as “shortcomings.” Check. They would have to despise those who stumbled under the wheels of the cartel’s juggernaut. Check. So, the emerging and rising star is Dr. Marc Monte, Don of Faith Baptist Church in Avon, Indiana. I have a message for Morris Hunsucker, the associate pastor: you really ought to take Marc’s Twitter account from him. Let me remind you that God’s people are paying for it. Here is another one of Monte Python’s tweets that is the subject of this post:

mmm

Let’s once again review what Monte considers to be “shortcomings”:

Hyles had also become known for his alleged immorality, specifically his behavior with his secretary (the wife of a deacon in the church)…. Besides Hyles’ own church and schools being scandalized with immorality and pedophilic activity (numerous FBCH men have been charged or  convicted of child molestation), Hyles spawned a number of “ministries” (there are approximately 200 independent Baptist churches nationwide that hold Hyles and his teachings in high regard) that have been scandalized in the same manner. For example, seven Hyles-affiliated churches from 1984-1993 were rocked by child molestation scandals.

David Hyles, Jack Hyles’ son, had affairs with at least 19 different women at Miller Road Baptist Church in Garland, Texas, during the time he pastored there. (He was dismissed when a janitor found photos of Hyles having sex with a deacon’s daughter.) Back in the Chicago area (Bolingbrook, IL), and after David’s divorce from his wife, David was cohabitating with a woman by the name of Brenda Stevens. Brenda posed for pornographic pictures in Adam and Chicago Swingers magazines (in an advertisement for group sex) during the time she and David were living together. After David married Brenda, Brenda’s 17-month-old son by a previous marriage was found battered and dead at the Hyles’ home. The police still consider the case a murder and continue to view David and Brenda as prime suspects [94]. (Paul Dohse: The Truth About New Calvinism; pp. 127-129).

And let’s once again review how Jack Hyles taught Monte to love people:

Went to BJU from ’85-’89. Never heard one word about abuse. Only psychos feel “abused”. The rest of us had fun in a protected place

Too many “victims” use the internet as a platform for whining. If laws were broken, involve the police—not the internet.

People who see themselves as perpetual victims can not succeed in life. Christians are overcomers in Christ.

And let’s once again review who Monte is calling “whining psychos”:

Newsflash for the staff and congregation at faith Baptist Church in Avon, Indiana—your pastor is a chip off the old block. He “admire[s]ed” MUCH about Jack Hyles. But, that’s probably why he’s your pastor. During the Hyles controversy a test for fellowship among IFB churches was “100% Hyles. ” Those who would not affirm that were run out of said churches. I assume Faith Baptist of Avon, Indiana was a member of that club.

Paul: I was looking at his Twitter account yesterday and could not find quite a few of the offending tweets. Good thing we know how to do screen shots, huh?

I’m dealing with a tyrannical dude who is removing posts on FB. My next comment I asked why they were removing comments and also included that I had screen shots of the comment they hid as well as a screenshot of this current one and would be posting it on my blog. Somehow that comment which was previously hidden was “found.” Miracle of miracles! But, being true to my cause, I still did the blog post. When will they learn?

      Julie Anne,

Geez, this IFB crowd is out-there. I have reason to be researching them and at times I just sit stunned.

I thought my situation was rare. I’ve been shocked to find it so prevalent. Really. It just baffles my brain. And so many just simply do not have any desire to put themselves in a tyrannical situation again and are left wonder where to have “church.” It’s pretty sad.

        Julie Anne,
That’s an easy one for me. America needs a massive home church movement. Homes facilitate friendships better anyway not to mention the money issue. Really, it’s so bad that sometimes I wonder if a persecution that would drive the church underground wouldn’t be better.
