I want to know what’s up with the Tom Joad / Grapes of Wrath wardrobe selections Mr. Chandler is so fond of. Oh well, so much for accentuating the positive.

Sergius, You are hilarious! I suppose it is step up from mickey mouse t-shirts and puca shell necklaces on men? Go Grapes of Wrath?
Paul, It is so horrible to teach moral lessons at church. I do wonder what Paul was getting out with all those admonitions in his letters? You would think he would know better but then Paul did not live to see the Reformation and learn the “true Gospel”. Do you ever wonder what the Holy Spirit is for in the Reformed world?
Some Tom Joad lines taken from the movie. Irony, indeed.
“If there was a law, they was workin’ with maybe we could take it, but it ain’t the law. They’re workin’ away our spirits, tryin’ to make us cringe and crawl, takin’ away our decency.”
“That Casy. He might have been a preacher but he seen things clear. He was like a lantern. He helped me to see things clear.”
[…] Matt Chandler Brilliance: “Don’t Live by Do’s and Don’ts”. […]

Jeff,
I have been way too happy lately–I think I will read Grapes of Wrath and Pilgrim’s Progress back to back.
