This “obedience” always with “joy” is really a club to beat folks with. Piper is the master of this. If you do not feel joy then what? Does it mean you are not saved? (BTW: Being around these folks, I happen to know a lot of them fake the joy)
The wife should feel joy at obeying her husband and wanting to “follow him” even though he asked her to be a part of a threesome and she said she could not but wanted to follow his leadership. HUH? But she should feel “joy” in obeying him on other things…even though she knows he wanted her to perform such a heinous act? (Using Piper’s own example in one of his videos on wife submission where he also says she should take “abuse” for a season. I assume with JOY?)
Is there any sane parent who expects their children to obey them with “joy” all the time? I can just hear it now…yes, you obeyed me but NOT with Joy, so you are still in trouble.
