It’s logical that the New Calvinists need a new radial system of interpreting the Bible. I can remember sitting through weeks of miserable Sonship training where the pastor, speaking to the congregation, insisted over and over that our hearts are like dirty bird cages! Comments about our hearts being “deceitful above all things” were also delivered with passion. Now, everybody knows Jesus is quoted in the gospels as saying that the “pure in heart” will see God. So Sonship’s got a complete contradiction to what Jesus said. What gives to answer the contradiction is the new prism and interpretation. I wouldn’t be surprised if I heard a New Calvinist arguing that drunkards will inherit the kingdom of God.

Good points Bill. The more I think of this, the more I think of Brian Jonson’s contribution to PPT where he makes the case that our heart is regenerated and the remnant of sin is in the flesh.
