The Furry Fandom Part 8; Fandom is Not a Cult? But…

We would disagree that Fandom is a cult because of how we define a cult. A cult is any combination of religion and authority, or religious figures who claim they have been granted authority by God. That’s a cult.

However, as we continue to research this very dangerous sect, which is how we would define it at this point, we find that the jury is still out on whether Fandom can qualify as a cult or not.

The following site describes the Fandom as a cult, but more importantly, the site is very informative.

Remains to be seen; there is discussion about the Fandom “hive” and how that could be considered an authority.

Your comment does not address any specific points in the post, but only attacks the author with baseless criticism. This is a common method used by those who have no argument for their ideology, and therefore adds nothing to the conversation. Hence, your comment is not posted because it fails to meet our moderation standards.

It is a subculture where individuals seek to live life by their own terms. Any, and every twisted desire is accepted, they can obtain a contra identity to replace their own conscience ravaged life, and they can continue in their endeavor to not grow up. Icy, whoever you really are, you probably hate yourself for good cause, and hence, you come here with your alternative identity.

Everyone lives life by their own terms and beliefs in one way or another. Humans have collective and individual behaviors. We don’t accept every twisted desire. Even though we have no central authority we do police ourselves and remove people if they cross lines. Illegal and harmful behaviors. Why would I hate myself? What are you basing this on?

Like you seem to be taking something as stupid as furry very seriously and that’s why I find it funny. I honestly thought this was a parody site until my friend who reads your site told me otherwise. And of course, I would use an alternative identity online who would use their real name? Do you know how easy it is to steal an identity in this county? All it takes is knowing your first and last name and city of birth and boom SSN stolen. Because the last four digits are the only “unique” numbers on that small piece of paper. But that’s not the point. The point is furry is just a community of people with a similar interest. And that is why I asked if you are new to the internet.

Any cooperation with the collective supports and condones the individual behavior when sects are being considered. Ideology leads to action/behavior. And what “similar interest” are you speaking of? Pedophilia? (estimated in Fandom to be 20%). Zoophilia? (18%). Those who rape their pets? Or those who have sex with roadkill? Or, the LGBT community in general? Policing? Well, like you said, of course we don’t use our true identities on the internet. That’s why Kero the Wolf can’t be indicted for raping animals and then killing them and then posting the vids on the internet: he does it in his fursuit. But like you said, we all have our own collective and individual behaviors…sera, sera. Policing? You going to excommunicate Kero? he will merely switch to another Furry identity.
