The Great Sexual Harassment Awakening is a Coup
The election of Donald Trump, in the minds of leftist liberals, is literally the end of their world. They will stop at nothing and sacrifice everything to dethrone him, even suggesting through “art” that someone should assassinate him.
Let us review what the reason for this is. Trump is an individualist who stands apart from collectivism (Democrats) and Collectivism Light (Republicans). The third party is a movement of Midwestern middle class people who understand the crux of freedom issues. This is who Trump must appeal to directly in order to stay in power; all others are against him, and he seems to understand this completely. In fact, this movement is so focused on the primary issue that Trump’s personal behavior is completely irrelevant. Well-behaved socialism still translates into bondage, and whatever a tyrant may deem moral.
Americanism poses a unique challenge to historic despotism and caste; it gave humanity a taste of freedom, and the thirstier one is, the more the water satisfies. This is why the American church is striving to support anyone or any party that supposedly understands total depravity and the evils of individualism. The best policy for them under the present circumstances is a scorched earth policy with hopes that something less free will arise from the ashes paving the way for a new church-state, or at least a seat at the table that will allow a limited church-state. To the church, ANY government is better than one supporting individual ability…confused churches who think patriotism and church are synonymous notwithstanding.
Let’s begin this paragraph by agreeing that EVERYONE knew that sexual harassment, rape, and groping have always been commonplace in institutions of EVERY sort, and this includes advancement up the ladder of success through consensual sex and agreed participation in many other unequitable strategies.
So, what’s with the recent Sexual Harassment Great Awakening? And nobody, but nobody, no matter how iconic, is being spared. I only need to say one name to make this point: Charlie Rose. What in the world is going on?
My theory: these are sacrificial lambs in a desperate scorched earth policy to remove Trump from office. No price is too high in order to accomplish the objective, and no one is exempt; in fact, the bigger, the better. More than likely, victims of this business-as-usual behavior are being sought out and even paid to come forward.
When this lofty new standard is established with the following nomenclature, “Nobody, but NOBODY, gets a pass,” victims of the Trumpster will come pouring out of the woodwork. Pray tell, “is Donald Trump better than the gargantuan list of fallen American icons?”
But will the ploy work, or will it backfire? It will probably backfire. Here is what the left seems to continually miss: Trump followers know he isn’t a choir boy and knew that when they voted for him. They may even be surprised that worse things haven’t come out. But what about impeachment and the fact that both parties are against him? We must remember who keeps those people in power: the people.
More than likely, regardless of the fact that no one is getting a pass, we will be reminded that Bill Clinton got the biggest pass of all, and Trump has never paid anyone to keep quite…because he’s smart.
And, this could be the finishing off of liberalism and the Democrat Party. Why? Because they sacrificed many of their top supporters in a winner-take-all gamble out of desperation. Also, even if they succeed, Mike Pence would replace Trump, and that would be an even bigger disaster for liberalism. While Pence shares the same freedom principles as Trump, he has a broad base of support in the Republican Party.

I truly don’t know what else to say except that Zimbabweans are happy people today. The country’s self-appointed dictator president and suspected mass-murderer (families who had opposed him, disappeared overnight and were never found again) came into power (after an armed struggle) when I was still in high school and resigned today (forced out by the army, behind the scenes). The point? Sooner or later, the penny drops at the right place. Democrats should take note of that, and so should Calvinists, the confused Reformed, and Protestants too.
A well-known American TV host (I was surprised at that, as they all seem to be anti-Trump) had a one-on-one with a woman in the audience who wanted to move to some Scandinavian country because Trump had become president. So the host said this (I paraphrase because I never watch these shows; it must have been my predetermined Calvinist moment): “Stay. Trump won’t be as bad. He’s going to get people to work again, and your son is going to return too. And America is going to be better.” And he was not snarky, not at all.

This phenonenon is not confined to the States. In Britain “inapproprate” behaviour is leading to govt resignations. Inappropriate behaviour here being a euphemism for all kinds of sexual misconduct. ‘Survivors’ are now ‘telling their stories’. The dam has broken.
This may not be a purely political thing. One of the most notorious abusers in the UK, the late broadcaster Jimmy Saville, got away with decades of abusing young girls in part because no-one would believe them if they came forward. How could a man who did so much for charity be like that? (Technically, Saville is innocent in that he was never brought before a court, but I don’t think there is any doubt as to his actual involvement in abuse. In the UK, you would be wise not to make an allegation unless you have enough proof to stand up in court. This is not covered by a right to free speech defence.)
You rightly say this kind of thing has always gone on, but is anyone surprised that it has mushroomed in the wake of the 60’s sexual revolution? God is not mocked, and you reap what you have sown.
The sad thing is when this culture invades the church, and the whole survivor blog industry is testimony to this, both in terms of its extent in authoritarian churches and their cover-ups, and in the increasing tendency to abandon on such blogs the legal presumption of innocence that both the US and UK legal systems have in common. Even the term ‘survivor’ implies that allegations of abuse can be considered as true even when there has not been a court case establish guilt. ‘Complainant’ would be a more neutral term.

Ken, the Sixties’ so-called sexual revolution (hedonism at full throttle, “Born to be Wild” stuff, you know?) has kickstarted and revealed many things, diseases included.
Gary Glitter came to mind when you mentioned Saville. And Rolf Harris?
Anyway, within the demonic Calvinist/Reformed circle of man-made rubbish, I think “survivor” is a good, descriptive term, as that is just what it is. Ken, it’s a death machine, and worse will still be revealed. Yeah, we’re not talking of a wild allegation for 15 minutes of “fame.” This is serious, life-threatening,life-destroying stuff. In many cases, “survivor” does not even describe it well. Someone who has died at the hands of this thing is . . . what? Victim?
I can tell you hair-raising tales from my own life and times regarding this evil death-cult movement called Calvinism and all its tentacles.

Hi John – I grew up with Rolf Harris on the telly, and really was shocked when his crimes came to light. The last person on earth you would have expected. Saville – not quite so surprised. Glitter – not surprised at all.
As for Calvinism, I’m glad I never grew up in a Calvinist church. I tried to embrace it as a reaction to seeker-sensitivity. The effect over a period of time was deadening, this is the word I would use for it. A God who is unapproachable.
The ultimate irony being you lose the experience (if you like) of God’s grace, the one thing Calvinists think they have a corner on. You cannot say ‘Abba Father’ to this distorted picture of God. He becomes distant. You become fearful of making mistakes. Not surprising when so many ardent Calvinists are so hardened, for want of a better term, a kind of arrogance and lack of empathy with fellow believers. An obsession with being right – doctrinal OCD! I’m all for Christians thinking and using their brains, but it can get too cerebral. Long discussions to resolve intellectual problems that Calvinism itself created, and needn’t have!
It can take a long time to get this out of your system, and I hope you are enjoying being free of it. It sounds as if you’ve had it much worse than I ever have.

Ya, grew up in it, and left at 17, only to return to a “safe” Baptist church in my thirties…which was an undercover Calvinist “church”. I fled from church to church…all the same story. Only about 15 years ago did the penny drop, and I have I been “fighting” and opposing all things Calvinist/Reformed since. BTW, and only because I have mentioned it here before: my daughter-in-law was molested and abused when she was only 11…by her Calvinist stepdad who had a “position” in the death-cult, while the worthless mother turned her eyes away. All in the name of Calvin, and the despicable, God-insulting phrase: “But remember we are all just sinners saved by grace.” Absolute guano.
I often say, “To hell with them Calvinists/Reformed Folk.” And I mean it; there are a few we need to get out of there, sure, but it is high time they start thinking for themselves too. Strangely enough, the empty seeker-friendly movement never attracted me. It’s like watching a naked WWE/WWF wrestling match.Silliness. It’s carnal.
Oh, I enjoy my freedom; you do too. The little manmade Calvinist sayings and brain dead axioms will die as you go on, away from them. I cannot listen to a single one of them; it is like listening to demons. There, I’ve said it. I don’t even want to see them. I have nothing to do with them. It is indeed the light/darkness situation. Two different gospels, case dismissed.
